This course will develop an advanced knowledge of the structure and function of British Sign Language and an understanding of the Deaf Community and Deaf Culture. Successful learners will be able to understand and use varied BSL in a range of work and social situations.

There are 3 units, which are assessed externally.
The course typically lasts around 15 months
Online lessons are held weekly on a weekday evening between 6pm – 8.30pm.
Limited places available: A small group ensures maximum visibility, participation and interaction for the best learning experience.
Access is provided to Deaf Solutions 3 ‘Student Zone’ for course support material.

In order to be entered for our BSL Level 3 course and assessments, leading to this qualification, learners must be able to demonstrate competence in BSL at level 2.

Learners will undertake a BSL skills assessment prior to a place being offered on the course.

Deaf Solutions 3 offer ‘Signature’ qualifications: Signature is the leading awarding body for Deaf communication qualifications in the UK.

• Signature Level 3 Certificate in British Sign Language, comprising of the following units:
• Formal Presentation
• Informal Conversation
• Receptive

Progression from Level 3?
Progression onto BSL Level 4, BSL NVQ6 is possible, depending on the requirements of the student.
